PMS Killed Cupid

As Valentine’s Day draws nigh, people everywhere are buying their sweethearts presents, planning romantic evenings and singing love songs. Ah, love is in the air! Blah.
For some of us however, something else is in the air, it’s called PMS! And instead of smiling when I see Cupid, I want to shoot him with a poison arrow. Please feel free to insert dramatic music.
I know what you’re saying, as Christians we’re supposed to love at all times, especially during February, the month of love, but there are certain times o’ the month when love seems far beyond reach. February is no exception.
I try reciting 1 Corinthians 13:4, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It works until someone or something is getting on my nerves, next thing you know, patient and kind is not even in my vocabulary, and I’m envying the couple sitting next to us who seem so dang lovey-dovey.
Anyone else ever feel that way? Please tell me I’m not the only one. Thankfully, no matter how I feel, I still realize that my actions are a choice, and this February, I choose not to kill anyone.
I will begrudgingly go to Walmart, fight the crowd, and buy my sweetheart a card, unless I get road rage on the way. I might even come home from work and cook a romantic dinner. That is unless someone makes me mad or I hear a sad song on the radio, in which case, I might just sit on the couch and cry. No wait, I will choose not to do either of those, or will I ?!? Ugh, I can’t seem to make up my mind. Dang you PMS!
Do you think God accepts PMS as an excuse to not be loving? Thanks a lot Adam and Eve for messing up a good thing! Great, now I’m mad at them!
All I have to say is, happy freakin February! And remember 1 Corinthians 13:4!
