Wow! What a great start to my morning. I had just started my quiet time, just finished a worship song, you know a little praise and worship to set the tone. I got up to go to the bathroom, sat back down and started praying. “Dear Lord, I just thank you for…” My prayer was interrupted by the unusually loud sound if flowing water. After further investigation, I realize the toilet was stuck and water was going everywhere! Thankfully it was clean.
What a way to start the morning. I went from praising to pissed in the matter of mere seconds. We humans are so fickle. It’s like, “thank You Lord, praise you sweet Jesus”, to “OH *#%^!!”, just like that. I didn’t actually use cuss words, so I’m right proud.
As I was stewing over having my quiet time interrupted, God reminded me of this verse. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Psalms 23:5
This morning, I’m thankful that I have a toilet to overflow. I’m thankful that I had towels to clean up the mess, and a husband to get out of bed and help me. I’m thankful most of all, that I have a Savior who gently reminds me of what’s important when I lose sight. I’m thankful that His unconditional love brings me from pissed, back to praise, and that my bad attitude doesn’t sway His love for me one bit.
