Goodness Gracious Great Furnace Of Fire

This morning we are headed to NACMAI Week. The North American Country Music Association International 2013, will be held at the Country Tonite Theatre located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The NACMAI 2013 combines country, bluegrass and gospel music to create the ultimate event for all types of tastes and personalities.

Last year I entered two of the songs I’ve written with the ACGMA, (Alabama Country Gospel Music Association) in the new gospel category and won! Sunday there will be an awards show and I will know if I’ve won on the national level. I’m excited and nervous.

When God gave me these songs, He told me He would use them. And I believed Him. He’s already used them to minister to people right here. Maybe you’ll be hearing them on the radio one day!

I got up really early this morning to have some quiet time. Trying to ward off being a total grouch for the road trip. I was reading in Daniel chapter three about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. This is one of my all time favorite bible stories! “When the music plays, you must bow down and worship the king, or you will be thrown in a furnace of fire!” That’s what everyone was told, but Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused. I love their reply to the king in verses 16-18 “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Their hope and trust was totally in The Lord. That story fires me up!

This weekend, I want to have a heart like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Win or lose, whatever comes my way, I will worship The Lord.
