Sometimes It Pays To Be Stubborn

This morning my heart is heavy concerning a situation in my life. When God tries to do good things, the devil is always going to try and mess them up. If he can’t get to the person God is using, he’ll attack the ones they’re close to…anything to try and distract them from what God has for them.

When we’re facing situations in our lives, we get disappointed in people. We get mad at people, we take our hurt feelings out on people, but what it boils down to is, these are spiritual battles. We can’t, as Christians, lose sight of who and what we’re fighting against.

Ephesians 6:12 says this, Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world. When sin has a hold on someone you love, it’s hard to remember that your fight is not with them isn’t it? It’s hard not to take some of the things they do personally. But in order to keep fighting, we have to stay focused on who we’re fighting. Here’s something I want you to hear. Sin is sin. God is not the one who puts degrees on sin. We are. Let’s not be guilty of thinking our ‘small’ sins are any better than someone’s ‘big’ sins.

Here’s what I’ve decided. I refuse to let satan win! I will pray diligently for the ones I love, who are not following Christ. I refuse to justify sin by saying what I’m doing isn’t as bad as what someone else is doing. I refuse to let the actions of others dictate my actions. I will put on the full armor of God, so that I can take my stand against the devil’s schemes. *Ephesians 6:11.

The devil is a liar. He wants nothing more than to destroy relationships. He wants nothing more than to stop us from doing good. I refuse to let him win! I knew one day my stubbornness would come in handy! There’s work yet to be done people! And I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.* Psalm 27:13
