Dancing With The Stars

As I sit here listening to it storm, it reminds me of God’s power. It reminds me of how, in life, we have storms and sunshine, mountains and valleys, good times and bad, and how God doesn’t waste anything.

We need rain to cleanse and make the land fertile, and sometimes we may need a little storm in our lives to get us to where God wants us to be. I know that I’m a stubborn person and sometimes God has to allow me to become very uncomfortable to get me to move.

When I see the lightning, every time it lights up the sky, I’m reminded that God Himself placed the stars in the heavens and tells the sun when to shine. He also places people in our paths. Some, we are to minister to, some minister to us.

We all encounter storms in our lives. Sometimes it feels like life is one, big, perpetual storm. However, along the way, every single time, if you’ll just look up, God will placed a star in your life. Someone who shines brightly and loves unconditionally. Reach for those stars!

How awesome to serve a Savior who loves us enough, who we can trust enough, who is strong enough to carry us through the storms of life, knowing that eventually, even in the darkest hour, stars will shine!

This morning, even though I was awakened by the thunder, I woke up thankful. Thankful that God had chosen to bless me with another day. Thankful that I know God is with me through the storms. Thankful for the work He is doing in my family, and truly humbled by the people He has chosen to put in my path. God has given me great family and friends to lean on. People who barely know me and my family, yet seem to love us. Thankful that the feeling is totally mutual. Thankful that God has my family right where we need to be, even though at the moment, it might not seem ideal. Today, even in the storm, I am thankful! I am dancing through this life with brightly shining stars!

The celestial realms announce God’s glory; the skies testify of His hands’ great work. Each day pours out more of their sayings; each night, more to hear and more to learn. Inaudible words are their manner of speech, and silence, their means to convey. Psalms 19:1-3

The Lord says, “Whoever loves me, I will save. I will protect those who know me. They will call to me, and I will answer them. I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them. I will give them a long, full life,
and they will see how I can save.” Psalms 91:14-16
