Sometimes when people ask how Tucker’s doing, and I tell them he’s in jail; they get an overwhelming look of sadness on their faces. I always try to assure them that its a good thing! That God is working on Tuck, and that he just needed to be where he could hear God. That’s different for all of us. No one should think that jail is the end of the road for anyone! Sometimes, it’s just the beginning! Let me assure you again that bars can’t keep God out! He’s alive and moving in the St. Clair County Jail!!
We’ve been having good, fun visits with our future man of God lately. God is really working in Tucker’s life! It’s so exciting to see when people are changing, and you can rest easy knowing ‘God’s got this’!
It’s not that there hasn’t been setbacks. Our FMoG lost his position as trustee because a nap was more important to him than his duties. Trust me, there’s still some growing that has to take place. Tuck won’t be out Billy Grahamin’ it anytime soon.
He is, however, trying to figure out any way possible to get out early! He says he’s ready to come home. Ready he may be, but God will choose to leave us in uncomfortable situations until we’re ready to admit that we can’t do it without Him.
It’s like baking a cake. You prepare the batter, which requires beating it with a mixer. Then you put it in the pan, the safe place. Then you put it in the hot oven, the place where things get done, where it stays until the toothpick comes out clean.
Tuck has went through the beating; addiction, life on the streets, and burning bridges. Now he’s safe in the pan (his pan has black and white stripes) which is in the hot oven (the oven that has lots of steel bars), and God is just waiting for the toothpick to come out clean! And only God knows when that will be.
You see, Tucker wants us to make phone calls to authorities to help him get sent to prison, so that he can get out quicker. That’s not happening. As bad as we’d like not to have to visit our boy in jail, we also want him safe in the oven until God is ready, not when we’re ready.
I’ve learned my lesson about praying for what I want, where Tuck is concerned. Now, I pray for God’s will to be done in Tucker’s life! God knows what’s best for Tucker, and He’s going to allow whatever it takes to get our FMoG to the place in which he can fulfill God’s purpose for his life. Because God definitely has a plan for Tucker! It excites me to think about his future.
I’m not sad for us, I’m excited! God’s got this and He will make sure Tucker gets to where he needs to be! He will keep him in the oven until he’s done! He will make Tuck strong in Him. God’s not finished with Tucker yet!
I (The Lord) will always guide you. I will satisfy your needs in a land that is baked by the sun. I will make you stronger. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water. You will be like a spring whose water never runs dry. Isaiah 58:11
