I might catch some flack for this one, but it won’t be the first time I’ve felt the sting, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
There’s a lot going on in the world today. Murders every time you turn on the news. Wars and unrest all around. Children being abused. Drugs are overtaking, and destroying so many lives. Our country is a disaster.
Frankly, there are times I just feel like throwing my hands up and forgetting it all. Why bother even trying? There’s nothing we can do anyway! The end is near! Screw all this! Come on Jesus! Just come back for your children! We can’t take much more!
I’m just being honest. Here’s the deal though; isn’t that what satan would want us to do? He would love nothing more than for us to throw our hands up in defeat. Which quite honestly, is what a lot of us are doing. We, as Christians, are becoming weak and defeated. We should be warriors!
Hey, I’m looking forward to Jesus returning as much as anyone else, but isn’t it selfish of us to want Him to come quickly? Think about it, there are so many lost and hurting people. Instead of us whining, worrying, and begging Jesus to hurry, shouldn’t there be an urgency to tell people about the goodness of God? Shouldn’t we all be telling these lost souls that they have hope through Jesus Christ? Shouldn’t it break our hearts at the thought of one person dying and going to hell? The answer is yes!!
I think, instead of concentrating on all the bad, and how the end is near; we should be more concerned about sharing God’s love, and telling others The Truth! We should want as many people as possible to have the hope all of us know to be true.
Every day we’re left here on this earth, the end is getting closer, no doubt about it; but let’s not be selfish and beg Him to come sooner. Let’s not let satan have what he wants, which is a bunch of wimpy, scared, self centered, weak and watered down Christians! It’s time we start standing up for the beliefs we so easily profess in our little bubble of Christian friends. No more ‘screw all this’ attitude. It’s time to put on the full armor of God and fight!
You are our victory, pushing back the enemy; at the sound of Your name, we crush the opposition. Psalm 44:5
Listen, stay alert, stand tall in the faith, be courageous, and be strong. Let love prevail in your life, words, and actions. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
