This Crap Sure Does Get Old!

My life ain’t perfect, by any stretch of the word! (Yes, I said “ain’t”. I’m from Alabama. Here, “ain’t” may as well be proper English!) I have struggles. I’m fighting spiritual battles. I don’t always act the way I should, and I’ve certainly been forgiven of much! I’ll tell you this though, God is doing BIG things!!

Everywhere I look, I see people struggling, however, I also see God stirring up His people! When God gets ready to do something big, you’d better believe that satan and his buddies will be relentless in trying to stop it! He’ll make you feel inadequate. He’ll tell you your ideas are stupid. He’ll tell you it’s impossible, and he’ll remind you of every time you screwed up while you’re trying to accomplish God’s will. LIES! ALL LIES!

Listen to me, and listen good! God’s gonna do what God’s gonna do! In spite of our weaknesses. In spite of our inadequacies. God makes the impossible possible! He loves to use those of us who are far from perfect (which would be anyone and everyone) to accomplish His will. All we have to do is be willing! We don’t have to be able, because His strength is made perfect in our weakness! *2 Cor. 12:9* God’s word also says that we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. *Phil. 4:13* Notice it doesn’t say “we can do some things”. It doesn’t say “we might can do things”. It doesn’t say “you can do all things if you’re really smart”. It just says “WE CAN!

We’re going to struggle. Our families will be under attack. We, most definitely, will mess up, but as long as we have a willing heart, and our motives are pure, God’s will will be done!

Let’s stand firm in the midst of trials! If you see someone struggling, encourage them! That’s part of our job! Let’s pray without ceasing! Let’s fight the good fight with all that we’ve got!

This crap gets old. I know it does. It seems like when it rains it pours, but hold out for the sunshine that comes after the rain! That’s what makes us grow!

So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. Galatians 6:9-10
