Somewhere, along the way yesterday, I lost my glasses! Those of you who can’t see, particularly those who are far sighted, (which, incase you didn’t know, means you can’t see close up) know what a pain in the butt it is to not have your glasses! YES, I wear bifocals! And YES I was bitter when I had to admit that I needed them! Don’t get me wrong! Unless I told you they were bifocals you’d never know! They’re no-line bifocals of course! I’m way too vain to have lines! And YES I’m also bitter that I don’t have them! If there are lots of mistakes today it’s because I CAN’T FREAKIN’ SEE!
When something we NEED doesn’t function, properly it causes all sorts of frustration. Like when my car wouldn’t start, in the driveway mind you, because it was out of gas :-/. Or the time my teeth bleaching trays wouldn’t fit because I was wearing Steve’s! (see <a href="http://The Mysterious Case Of Shifting Teeth.”>The Mysterious Case Of Shifting Teeth. )
Maybe, hopefully, I’m not the only one who’s done crazy things like that. In every example I stated, when something wasn’t functioning properly, it was MY fault! What it ultimately boils down to is that, in every case, something was misplaced. I can’t see because I’ve misplaced my glasses. My car wouldn’t start be caused I’d misplaced my priorities. I knew I needed gas, but thought it would be ok to wait. I wore the wrong teeth trays because I’d failed to put mine in the proper place. Aka, I’d misplaced them. Keeping order is very important! Without order, incase you haven’t noticed, I’m bitter!
God always has things in a certain order, and there’s a reason! For one thing, HE’S GOD! I’m fairly certain He knows everything! For another thing He understands that we are flawed human beings, and without order we’re kind of crazy! Plus, and most importantly, when we misplace our priorities our relationship with God suffers, much like my eyesight is suffering because of my misplaced glasses! That being said, I’m out of here! Y’all pray that I find my glasses!
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
