If you read this blog, then you know that there wasn’t a blog yesterday. I’ve always heard that if you can’t say anything nice, just don’t say anything at all. Well, yesterday I couldn’t come up with anything nice to say so I said nothing! One thing I never want to do is to misuse the platform God’s give me.
I’ve never been one to sit around and wish Jesus would hurry up and come back. Like I’ve said before, it’s not that I’m not glad He’s coming back, but I feel that if we’re sitting around fretting things that are going on, staring into the heavens, begging Jesus to come save us from this wretched world, then, most likely, we’re doing nothing to help get people to Heaven! And as far as I know, that (where a person will spend eternity) should be our ultimate concern! I have to admit something to y’all though. Lately, I’ve really wanted to throw my hands up, say “screw it”, and BEG Jesus to come back and get His people!
The perversion I witness on a daily basis sickens me. And when I say ‘perversion’ I’m not just speaking of sexual sins. Ideals have been perverted. Morals and values have been perverted. Work ethic has been perverted. The church, families, friendships; heck, even our food isn’t safe to eat! You name it, and it’s safe to say that we (as a society) have gradually perverted it from it’s created intent. I’m seriously beginning to wonder what the heck He’s waiting on!!
Truth be told, I’d just as soon continue right on with this pity party I’ve thrown myself, and say “to hell with the rest of y’all” as I had do anything right now. Isn’t that basically what we’re saying if we’re constantly begging for Jesus to come back and rescue us from troubles, as if we’ve somehow reached a place in our spirituality that we don’t deserve any troubles?!
God help me. And I sincerely mean that! I’m going to need all the help I can get to not be judgmental and to love people the way I should. That’s all.
Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people. 2 Timothy 3: 1-5
But don’t let it (this world) faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. 2 Timothy 3: 14-17
