For those of you who may not know, my Momma had hip replacement surgery while I was in Mexico. My sister has been taking care of her all by herself since the surgery. For y’all who’ve taken care of sick parents, y’all know what a job that can be! Thus the reason I am here giving my sister a break.
Melissa, my sister was blessed with the gift of being a caretaker. I, on the other hand, am not quite the caretaker as my baby sister! However, the way I see it is, Momma may be having to do more for herself, but I’m not half as nazi-ish as Melissa! She’s brutal! She’s a great caretaker, no doubt. But big sis is way more nurturing. That is, if you consider standing here watching Momma struggle to get her leg on the couch to be nurturing.
I say all that to say, I’m sure there will be many funny blogs from my Momma’s plight. 🙂 I have to take her to therapy in a few minutes so this will be short and sweet. Stay tuned for more tales from Mexico and more tales from the hip!
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:1-4
