I’m working on something this morning that I’ve GOT to get finished! Why does God ask us to do difficult things?! Doesn’t He know that I don’t like thinking hard?! Doesn’t He, of all people know how ADD I am?! He created me for cryin’ out loud! He knows I’m allergic to work! 🙂
I’ve blamed my shortcomings on God many times. “You made me this way!” I’d say. But here’s the deal. We can do all things through Christ! God gives us difficult tasks to do so that we’ll totally rely on Him! He allows us to go through trials so that we have no choice but to get out of His way and let Him do what He does! He does not want weak, watered down, wimpy Christians! If that’s what He wanted He’d make our lives giggles and gumdrops! That’s probably something we should remember with our children as well, particularly boys! Sometimes a person has to go through tough times. Parents should not try to fix everything! Ok. Now that that rabbit’s been chased. Back to the subject at hand. This thing I’m working on? I promise you, if it’s worth a flip, it’ll be because I’ve removed myself and allowed God to work through me! I don’t know about y’all but, a lot of the time, I want to put in my two cents when, the whole time, God’s telling me to do or say something different! When I choose to ignore Him the results are never good.
With all that being said, I would appreciate some prayers! Pray that I remove myself, and my opinions so that God can be seen and heard! And pray that I get finished in a timely manner so that Steve doesn’t come in to find me in a corner, curled up in fetal position, crying! IJS.
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. James 1:2-4
