VBS Ain’t No BS!

So, this past week has been a busy one! My mom had hip replacement surgery, and my little sis goes to see a lung specialist today, and on top of all that it’s been VBS week! For those of you who may not know what VBS is, it’s not Vitriolic Bull S**t! No, no, no, no, NO! It’s Vacation Bible School!

VBS is living proof that Christians are fun!! Kids get to play games, make crafts, act out bible stories, eat, and most importantly they learn about Jesus! I taught the storytelling class this year. Mind you, I didn’t know I was teaching the storytelling class until the week before! The whole time I thought I had said yes to being the emcee! You know, opening and closing the shindig. I had no idea I would be in a room with a bunch of kids! All of them. All night long! Each group came to my class one after the other!

I have to tell you, it’s been awhile since I’ve taught kids and enjoyed it. I’ve been a tad hesitant to become too involved at our new church. I use the word “new” very loosely. We’ve been there over two years! Not to mention, we’ve been going through a lot in the last year!  I tried teaching children’s church a few times, and I gotta tell you, after the first time, I dreaded it with every fiber of my being. This week however, I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the kids

I have to attribute this to two things; God’s timing, and no Prozac!! I’m starting to feel like myself again! Steve said, and I quote. “It was so good to see you back in action.” For one, how sweet is that!? I love that he loves watching me! For two, I like this me way better than Prozac me! And so do the kids! They love me even though I have no trouble telling them to sit down and be quiet instead of asking them to catch their bubbles. 🙂 So, those of you who may not know the real me yet? Look out! I’m baaack! And that ain’t no (V)BS!

Please y’all, don’t think for one minute that I’m saying you shouldn’t take Prozac, or any other medicine for that matter! I might be back on it next month myself! I hope not, and I doubt it, but if it’s necessary I won’t hesitate! All I’m saying is I’m glad I’m able to do without!

Y’all please say a prayer for my mom and sis if y’all don’t mind. I hope everyone has a great day!

Gather the people together—men, women, children, and the foreigners living among you—so they can listen well, so they may learn to live in holy awe before God, your God, and diligently keep everything in this Revelation. And do this so that their children, who don’t yet know all this, will also listen and learn to live in holy awe before God, your God, for as long as you live on the land that you are crossing over the Jordan to possess.” Deuteronomy 31: 12-13
