Time Is On My Side. Or Is it?!

Well, well, well. Raise your hand if you’re looking forward to 2017! 🖐🏼!!

If I’m being honest, I’d have to tell you that I didn’t seem too hopeful about this year. There were a couple things going on that tried to zap the hope right out of me. I won’t go into all that. I’ll just say this….But God!

2016 seems to have flown by so fast! I’m not sure if that’s just because of my age or what. It seems the older you get, the faster time flies. Does anyone else feel that way? Think about it! The older we get, it seems like everything goes faster. Here are just a few things : Time in between bathroom trips. Time in between waking up and getting to go back to bed. Time in between doctor visits. And those are just a few things.

Time passing does have its perks! It seems with every year that flies by, I get less and less concerned with what others think of me. The only person’s opinion that really matters is God’s! I’m not in the people pleasing business! Plus, I read somewhere that intelligent people are messy and they use more cuss words. Let’s just say I’m a freakin genius! So, if you come to visit me and my house is messy, or you hear me use a cuss word, it’s merely a sign of intelligence. I can’t help it. Don’t judge. Anyway, speaking of time flying, as I reflect on 2016, it was a rather eventful year.

In 2016 our family lost, loved, lost at love, gained more than pounds, conquered demons, laughed, cried, and laughed until we cried. We’ve fought and made up, made new friends, and lost some old ones. We’ve learned a lot about life and about each other. One thing’s for certain, we’re all sure that God is in control and we can trust Him no matter our circumstances.

Here’s a little montage of our 2016 in pictures!

No matter what life throws at us there’s one thing for certain, time doesn’t wait until we get our act together; it just keeps on going! We’re not promised tomorrow, so let’s make our time here on this earth count for something!

The Gift

Where has it gone

Did you make it count

Did you do things that mattered

Did you figure things out

Did you have any left

Was there more than you needed

Did you keep it to yourself

Or give it out freely

Time heals all wounds

Time marches on

Time can slip by you

Where has the time gone

Like the hairs on our head

Our time is numbered you see

In the blink of an eye

You could no longer be      CH2016

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12
