Well, alrighty then. So far 2017 has proven to be one heck of a year! It seems as if I’ve had more downs than ups. If it ain’t one thing it’s another! Have any of y’all ever had times like that? Sure you have! If not, you’re either delusional or you’re a liar!
The Bible is pretty clear that as long as we’re alive, we will have troubles! If you read my last blog, then you know that due to a mishap during my hysterectomy, I had to come home with a catheter. I had a cystogram done on Jan. 30th, hoping to go home catheterless, only to find out my bladder was still leaking. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt. I was then sent to a urologist on Feb. 1st, he did a scope revealing I still had a hole in my bladder. The doctor suggested I wear the catheter another two weeks to see if it heals on its own. My question? “”What if I wait another two weeks and I still have to have surgery?! The doc’s answer? But what if you don’t? I couldn’t argue with that now could I?
On the bright side, recovering from surgery has allowed me time to watch a lot of makeup tutorials! I mean, I gotta pull out all the stops! It’s really hard to feel even remotely cute, with a tube hanging from your netherregion, while dragging around a bag of pee!
In this life it’s always what if this, and what if that. We can always sit around and play the what if game. Like, what if I got everyone to sign my bag?! Or, what if my friend Angie, hadn’t sent me the funny memes of people wearing catheters?! I mean, if you can’t laugh at yourself….. And sometimes, we think the worst like, what if I had to do this the rest of my life?! Or, we can look at it like this? What if, no matter what happened, God is God, and He will be glorified! How bout that?
People keep saying I’m just gonna pray that when you go back it’s completely healed! And believe me, that’s what I want! Omg! I want that more than anything! I’m praying that, but I gotta tell y’all, I’m scared to get my hopes up! Here’s what I know! Surgery or not? God is going to take care of this whole mess! And when it’s over, I’m going to feel so much better than I expected!
Sometimes, when you’re in the middle of a situation, it’s hard to hope. That’s why it’s so important to surround yourself with people who will encourage you, and hope and believe for you! God is faithful all the time!
Two can accomplish more than twice as much as one, for the results can be much better. If one falls, the other pulls him up; but if a man falls when he is alone, he’s in trouble. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1
