So, I hope everyone is doing well! It’s been a long, rather annoying road for me the past couple months; but guess what?! I’m baaack! At least I’m on the way back! No bag of pee hanging from my leg! That, my friends, is a vast improvement!
I guess, when people go through bad things, they have to come up with ways to stay sane. You know, sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying. My husband, Steve, has apparently found a way to laugh, and naturally it’s at my expense!
Just let me say, I do not look cute when I wake up. When I get out of bed I’m ill as a hornet, my hair is sticking up all over the place, and I’m usually wearing my birth control sweatshirt. It’s not remotely attractive. The last thing I want is for my picture to be taken!
Steve believes otherwise. He has the worst, and most annoying habit (although, I think he thinks this is a skill) of taking the worst possible pictures of me. He thinks it’s the funniest thing ever. He’s so sneaky about it too! Like, taking hold of my hand and telling me how awesome I am, and how much he loves me, all the while positioning the phone in his other hand to take a picture! Mind you, this is all taking place when I had just gotten out of the bed! Let me tell y’all, lately he’s gotten some doozies!
Here’s another good one. Y’all, these are nowhere near the worst ones. I’m trying to spare y’all! There’s one that’s so bad, I would be embarrassed to display it. Needless to say, that’s the one he pulls up when he needs a really good laugh. Even though these are horrible pics, it really is funny. What’s not funny though, is how our enemy, the devil, works.
You see, the devil loves to take horrible pictures of us, so to speak, then repeatedly show them to us. He loves to remind us of how bad we looked and what we’ve done. He will grab a hold of our hands and tell us how good something will be, or that we look amazing, or how awesome we are, only to capture us at our worst. The thing is, we don’t have to keep looking at his pics! All we have to do is tell him to leave us alone, in Jesus’ name, and he has to go! We don’t have to be victims of our past! What’s done is done and we can rest assured that God won’t be bringing up the past.
Start deleting the pictures the devil tries to use against you! Don’t give him the satisfaction of having a laugh at your expense! Hey, maybe I should start deleting pics off Steve’s phone! There’s no telling what I might find!
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
